NSTIC

The National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace is a watershed policy initiative of the White House, funded by Congress and poised to be led by the private sector, to:

better protect consumers from fraud and identity theft, enhance individuals’ privacy, and foster economic growth by enabling industry both to move more services online and to create innovative new services.

The NSTIC.us website is a non-governmental online forum where communities of interest can share more information and collaborate.  This site includes key updates about the coming governance initiation process, the grant funding announcements for NSTIC pilots, and other important news.

I was a presenter at the first NSTIC national workshop held in Washington, DC on the topic of Governance for the Identity Ecosystem on June 9, 2011.  Here is my presentation.

I was a panel moderator at the second NSTIC national workshop hosted at the MIT Media Lab on the topic of Privacy for the Identity Ecosystem on June 27/28, 2011.  Here is the NSTIC-Privacy-Workshop-Agenda.

I worked with the NSTIC team and the Identity Community at the “NSTIC Day” hosted by the ID Commons Internet Identity Workshop in Mountainview, CA on October 20, 2011.  Here is a video of Jeremy Grant’s key comments and an interview I conducted with him on highlights of NSTIC.
